South Essex College BA Hons Fashion Design Graduate Show

There were 4 stunning collections that caught my eye:

1. Freakshow- Chesca Smith
Inspired by deformities and the underwear as outerwear trend, creating a paradox between strange and beautiful.

Gorgeous but has already been on the catwalk. Stand out! Design something not so recent.

2. Body Excesses- Sarah Powel
Concept derived from two extremes of the body; obesity and anorexia.

This collection could of had a better name and the collection was beautiful which for me didn't portray eating disorders.

3. Machismo- Luke Langan
Menswear collection that studies different forms of masculinity from cowboys to body builders.

I loved that I got to see a bit of menswear! You woke me up.

4. Sheer Enticement- Jade Pease
A feminine collection that explores multiples with the use of flounces and ruffles.

Having matching accessories made this collection stand out.

3D Entertainment

The latest project I am working on is about entertainment and primarily television entertainment. Below is a survey I have created that will help me for research purposes only, if you could fill one in for me that would be fantastic.

Alice & Wonderland

Alice & Wonderland is really hitting everywhere even small boutiques. I really was accurate back in November when I began to notice the fantasy fairytale trend occuring. How beautiful is this window display though, I do love Leigh-on-sea...

Personal Tagging.

So for my latest module I have to pick an interesting topic and ask my network about it. Pretty fun. So my topic is all about personal tagging, how we tag ourselves on the internet. For example we tag ourselves in photos on facebook, geo-tag ourselves on twitter and tag keywords on our blogs to higher rank ourselves in google.

Do you know of any new ways people are tagging themselves on the internet?

I have a survey for you aswell, just click on the link below. It will only take two mintues, I promise.

Decode: Digital Design Sensations

Today we took a field trip to the V&A to see the latest exhibition, Decode. For this exhibition the V&A has collaborated with contemporary arts organisation, onedotzero. onedotzero promote innovation across all forms of moving image and interactive art.

Decode looks at three different themes within digital design these include code, interactivity and networks. For me the interactivity was the fun part, it's what made the exhibition enjoyable and the networking maps inspired my current module, networks and connectivity. In the free little exhibition leaflet networks is described as mobile technologies, the internet, blogs we post and the messages we send. This is completely controversial to how I drew my network, I thought about my network as in the people I know and who they know, so on. Kind of like my connections not my internet connections...

My favourite part of Decode was the Videogrid by Ross Phillips, an interaction designer and creative technical director for SHOWstudio. See my cheeky little video below showing how me and the girls became apart of the digital piece of art.
